The following enhancements were made to the History Database platform. With each update, we strive to improve the overall user experience and introduce new features based on customer requests and online media best practices. To suggest an enhancement or for more detailed information about any of these changes, please contact us.

 

New Feature! Interactive Image Viewer. (January 18, 2018)

An interactive image viewer was added to our image detail pages. The Image viewer enables you to explore the details of images in our database.

New Feature! QR code added to Image Print Page (January 18, 2018)

A QR code was added to the print page of the image detail page.  You can scan the QR code with your mobile device and go to the the image record.

Timelines moved to their own tab in Search results (December 21, 2017)

Timelines were moved to their own tab in Search Results. They are listed chronologically and can be filtered by timeline title.

 

 

New Integration! Desire2Learn LTI Now Available (June 8, 2017)

Brightspace / Desire2Learn (D2L) users can now embed content from History Databases directly into their courses.  For installation instructions, please refer to the  History Databases Desire2Learn Insert Stuff Plugin Installation article.

New IntegrationCanvas LTI Now Available (June 1, 2017)

Canvas users can now embed content from History Databases directly into their courses. The LTI app provides a rich integration between History Databases and Canvas courses.  Users of Canvas can embed Science Online resources directly inside their courses, without having to leave the LMS.  This plugin is LTI based and integrates directly into the standard Canvas HTML editor.

New IntegrationSchoology LTI Now Available (May 11,2017)

Customers using the Schoology learning management system can embed content from History Databases directly into their courses without having to leave the LMS.  The new LTI app provides a rich integration between History Databases and Schoology courses by being accessible through the standard Schoology HTML editor and the Add Materials menu within a course.

World Religions Added to the History Cross Search (October 31, 2016)

If you are a World Religions subscriber , you will be able to search those records too through the cross search.

New Controversies in History Content Feed (September 13, 2016)

Editorially selected articles from Issues and Controversies in American History have been include in each History database (except Ancient and Medieval History). These curated pro/con articles can now be seen on the home page of each History database, just below the Topic Center lists. This new home page section is called Controversies in History. These articles are also searchable.

Save to Google Drive  (August 31, 2016)

You can now download Infobase Database Platform records to your Google Drive account.

Citation Updates (August 18, 2016)

The MLA citations have been updated to the new MLA8 format. In addition, a new Harvard citation option is now available. Users can view these, along with Chicago Manual of Style format, for any record with a citation. They can also set their default citation format in their user preferences.

Google Sign In (July 29, 2016)

Google Sign In can now be turned on to allow users to access the Infobase Databases platforms with their Google credentials. If you are a GAFE school, this provides an easy way for students and faculty to link their Google accounts with their Infobase Databases platform accounts. This feature must be turned on by your account administrator before it is available for users.

Google Classroom Link Tool Now Available (June 17, 2016)

For Google Classroom users, a new option has been added to the "Share" tools. This will allow users with a Google Classroom account to share an authenticated link directly into their account.

Images Added to Reuters News Articles (May 13, 2016)

Reuters articles that include an image now display that image at the top of the article, adding a lot of visual appeal to this content. While most of the Reuters articles contain images, some do not.

New Embed Codes (February 24, 2016)

With our new embed code options, users can now easily embed articles, videos, and images into any Learning Management System or website using the "Share" option in the page tools.
